When you use 3" cake pans do you make 2 cakes and stack them or just slice one and fill it?
I have done both. It just depends what type of look you are tring to get. I have made a cake out of two 3" pans to make a tall 10" cake. I looks enough different to see such a tall cake that it is fun.
I use 1 layer and split it.
