Hi Everyone,
Royal icing I have been making forever & love for use in decorating my sugar cookies has always been mixed with Wilton meringue powder. Lately, I'm having issues getting Wilton meringue powder & tried Satin Ice.
1. I do not like the taste
2. Using the same recipe I cannot get a stiff consistency icing, so no flower making for me :(

Recipe:
5 tbsps meringue powder
3/4 c warm water
1 tsp cream of tartar
2lbs powdered sugar

Has anyone had good luck getting a stiff icing using Satin Ice meringue powder?
Or suggestions on how to adjust? Let water? More sugar?

Thanks for any help. Have a large order due this weekend and am afraid current icing will make too much of a taste difference for my cookies

I make A LOT of cookies, 500+ orders. Merengue powder is not the issue. Just lower the amount of water. I don't even measure the water, I just put it in until it gets to a consistency I like. More for flood, less for piping.
