Hello Experts...I'm a hobby baker that's been out of it for a while trying to get started again so I can use your help. I was asked to make this with short notice and have a few questions:

What's the best way to do the 2 toned BC..should I chill it first and then do the smear or smooth the first then do the smear color right away?

Where can I buy the characters? I would love to do them by hand but no time.

***tried 6 times but photo won't download from my gallery..☹️

If you are talking about the water color affect, I always frost the cake in the base color, then dab on the colors I want to "paint".  Since you don't have time to make the characters, could you do edible images? Maybe printed on wafer paper or sugar sheets and mounted on fondant and let dry until sturdy. I checked with our local Walmart deli and they told me they would do edible images for me and charge just like any of their little cake toppers.
