Royal Icing On Cookies

I will be making cookies using the royal icing for the first time.  How do I get the shine on them and also can they be frozen once they are decorated?  Thanks for any advice.. Doz

there's a kind of a gloss to the royal a little bit

they can probably be frozen -- I would freeze uniced cookies then ice them -- but people do freeze them iced

This is what I do with decorated cookies.  Complements of Sweet Ambs' website:

Instructions

  1. Seal the cookies in cello bags with the heat sealer.
  2. Place the cookies into an airtight container.
  3. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  4. To thaw, keep the cookies in the airtight container at room temperature for at least 2 hours
