Hey all! I know not everyone likes to share this but I was wondering if anyone here (who doesnt mind sharing) could share your source for cake recipes...someones blog, or cake cookbook or whatever it may be. I wish I could develop my own recipes but I don't think I could ever do that...I don't have the slightest idea where to even start for that lol I do love decorating/frosting etc cakes and that's what I would rather focus on. Soooo, if anyone doesnt mind sharing what they use, id love it and THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
here's some great ones!
plus kakeladi's wasc -- I'll get a link...brb
you cannot beat the advantage of using a mix especially for white cake -- you get a cake that slices and serves cleanly -- doesn't dry out when cut in advance and left out on the cake table for seconds -- it can go in & out the fridge as you go through the whole process without any change in texture which is not the case with a butter cake --
white was my most requested bridal cake everywhere I ever worked so it's important to have a great one which is prolly why you asked in the first place
so here's the link which has the original by our very own kakeladi and over fifty variations
mycakeschool fb page. cakepaperparty.com. sugargeeks.com. https://addapinch.com/the-best-white-cake-recipe/. These are my go too.
But as K8memphis mentioned, you can get a great cake doctoring a cake mix. As K8memphis posted the link for the original wasc cake. And you can add so many flavorings and additions like dried cherries, pumpkin, etc and spices.
I try recipes from everywhere! If it looks exciting to me, I will give it a try. The sources given above are all excellent and ,my old favorite. Southern Living has tried and true wonderful cake recipes.
