Hello!! And long time no see :)

Since I’m not shipping things this holiday, thought I’d ask here before my sister orders from the web :)

Well, I'm close, but not close enough.  About a two hour drive from here and that's a lot for a carrot cake.  Hopefully she will be able to find one.

I KNEW you were somewhere around there :). Ah, she can find someone on-line...she just knew I have some fabulous baking compatriots all over the country so she asked me first. You love hummingbird cake more, if I remember correctly?

Actually, I do love Hummingbird Cake, but my favorite is my own version of Carrot Cake, which I call Magnolia Cake.  I worked with a lady who loved J. Alexander's take on a carrot cake and I set out to replicate it for her.  The final result, the Magnolia Cake, which has carrots, pineapple, raisins, and pecans, a bit of brown sugar and a healthy dollop of mayonnaise, was judged to be even better.  I've won a bunch of awards with it and it is always a favorite at dinners.
