I'm so much a novice. Hope all you pros will forgive a few questions. 1) How will the fig and orange flavors taste together? 2) Should I mix them with confectioner's sugar, and/or buttercream? or 3) Should I put down a layer of butter cream first, then add the fruit preserves? It's for a two layer white cake, and I'd like the filling to be as thick as possible. I'm very shaky, and can't do anything "fiddly," but would really like to make this a great birthday cake for my 14 year old great-granddaughter. Thanks, everyone! Martha
