I have a client that lives 17 hours away in a remote community in Canada.  He is asking if I can transport his two tier wedding cake via air cargo.  I have NEVER done this before.  If it’s not possible to do without wrecking the cake, I may tell him that I can’t do it

I’d love all suggestions please.

I know that it is done, especially for big cake shows, but I also know that, regardless of the packaging, there is generally at least a little damage.  No matter how well it is packaged and labeled, your poor cake is at the mercy of everyone who will be handling it from point A to point B.  Not everyone takes pride in his work or has respect for others.

If you really want to make the cake, I suggest each of you drive half way and meet in the middle.  If you box the cake in a way that it will be kept cool, it should survive the car trip with flying colors.

If you cannot reply to this post, just start a new one and refer back to the original.
