I have never timed mine. I just always push down on it and make sure there are no frozen spots in it.
Take the wrapper off as soon as you get it out of the freezer and make sure that when you unthaw it. You place your cake exactly where you want it. After thawing it will stick to the bottom of your cakeboard, you will not be able to move without breaking it.. Frozen cakes are the most moist cakes ever! Good Luck!
I take mine out a day before and let it thraw still wrapped in the foil placed on cooling rack...when thrawed, I remove the foil and once again place on cooling rack to dry some and place in container that will fit the size cake and let dry a little and then proceed to ice and decorate.
