i was interested in taking one of wilton's courses but i just need to know the cost for the course and cost of supplies and all. i'm not sure if i want to spend too too much money because i'm still a student and this is only something i want to do for fun.
p.s. it's this site that influenced me into the cake world ![]()
Michaels classes are now currently $30, but they offer monthly promotions. Feb is 1/2 off or $15. March is by the kit and get the class free. April will be 40% off or $18.
Course 1 basic supplies are the Course kit ($19.99), meringue powder and decorating bags. I would guess supplies will cost you $40+, but it does depend on what you have and what you want.
You do get a 10% off student discount that you can use on any class supplies, and can use 40% off coupons when they have them.
You will also be making 3 cakes during the course as well as icing every week after the first week.
HL will be running 1/2 off Wilton classes through June. And ALWAYS print the 40% off coupon from their website (when they have it, which is most of the time)
I took all three of my classes at Michaels and loved them just the same! But shhhhhh (lol I'm a hobby lobby WMI, now... heh) Michaels also has great 40% coupons - at least they do here in the states! Good luck!
As of tomorrow Wilton classes at Michaels will go up to $30 per class. This month Classes are 1/2 price only $15. Plus Michaels Wilton instructors introduce a New class on Fondant and Gumpaste. The class will be fun. ![]()
