I am sorry, but this forum is giving me fits and it has to do with the Captcha. Twice it has wiped out a long post because I missed a photo square. When it came back saying I must complete the Captcha. my comments were gone.

I finally figured out that I missed a step in the recipe. I mixed both eggs in the batter instead of adding only the yolks and whipping the whites and folding them in. I have made this recipe numerous times, I cannot believe I missed the step.

This explains most of my problems. Thank you for the conversation.

well sure -- so sorry about the captcha mess -- this site has been slammed with spam and i guess it is unfortunately necessary -- i'm really sorry that happened  yes very frustrating --

the one cake like this where essentially it had to be baked twice i used the cake doctor's melted ice cream cake recipe

it's somewhere between pound cake consistency and regular cake  so it was perfect for my need at that time
