Hi everyone

I’ve never applied drip to a fondant cake but I have to for a cake tomorrow! I’ve read that chocolate ganache drip might seize or do funky things to the fondant and to use royal icing drip...but not sure how to make the royal icing drip look like dark chocolate.

Has anyone used a regular chocolate ganache drip onto a fondant cake without it ruining the cake?

Honestly, I've never done a drip on fondant, but I see no reason why it would not work.  I would not hesitate to do it, although I might get an unpleasant shock.  Start with the cake well chilled, just like you would with a buttercream covered cake.  I have used ganache for the drip, but prefer plain old candy melts in whichever color is appropriate.
