new here, but was wondering if anyone has done a anniversary or wedding cake using a sheet cake on the bottom and then maybe 1 or 2 tiers on top of that,like either in the middle or off in the corner . i have a 25th wedding anniversary party and about 70-100 people to feed. what do you suggest? and pictiure are great thankyou love this site icon_smile.gif

Check the gallery they have a lot of nice cake ideas in there. Yes you can add a small heart cake or a small square cake on top of a sheet cake but I would dowel it to make sure it doesn't crush the cake below.

I just did a cake for a 50th anniversary for 100 people. I used the Wilton serving chart to find out how much cake to make. I ended up using 12" 9" and 6' rounds. I also told them exactly how to cut the cakes to get the desired number of servings (also got that from the website). If you look in my photos you can see how I decorated it. Everyone loved it.

You could also do a mini tiered cake and keep the sheet cak ein the back (kitchen cake). That way you have the right amount but don't have to combine different cakes. The tiered cake could also be done like their original wedding cake was decorated!
