Can someone tell me the approximate amount of icing that this recipe makes.
I need about 42 (yikes icon_surprised.gif) cups of icing, and it will be so helpful if anyone can give me this info.
TIA,
Kathy

Ps If any of you have spare time, and wouldn't mind double checking my estimates, I'd sure appreciate it icon_smile.gif . This just sounds like an awful lot of icing, but I've never done a cake quite this big...I don't want to run out, but don't want to eat up all my profit in left-over icing either icon_redface.gif
This cake will have the following layers 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16; and I'll be using the cream cheese for filling the 6 and 10 inch layers.

I use the crusting cream cheese icing recipe all the time and it makes a big batch of icing. I think 42 cups sounds like an awful lot of icing. I would start out with 4 batches of icing. It might take 5, but I would start with 4. I always end up with leftover icing, but try to not have way too much.

Hope this helps. Maybe someone else is a better judge. Good luck!

Cindy

It sounds like a lot to me, too! I think I'll take your advice and start with 4 batches...
thanks for the input.
