I am making a white colorflow cross to put on the top of a christening cake for this weekend. Haven't work with colorflow for a while and needless to say, not happy with the results. icon_cry.gif Thinking of also doing this cross in white chocolate; problem being the outline and inside design really needs to stand out. Do you think this can be accomplished using the (white candymelt) chocolates?

Well, I do not believe that a ct will have the same effect but maybe you can put luster dust on a ct to give it a nice effect?

I am going to do another run with color flow......need to thin out (very lightly) the full strength for the outlines (mine was too dry and breaking) and thicken up the fill-in as it was too thin (didn't poof). As I said, been a long time since I did color flow and need to work on it. May do the cross in white chocolate anyway as I will be making a second cake (different flavor) and want to try it.

just to let you all know, gave up on the colorflow and used candymelts to do the cross - pic attached.....was happier with the results. icon_lol.gif

Very beautiful. My opinion the CT is much more impressive than color flow.

What you did looks great, but to answer your original question, yes, you can do the "color-flow" thing with chocolate melts!.

The Whimsical Bakehouse book is pretty much ALL about chocolate transfers - very similar method to color flow or flooding with royal icings.

You do have to color the chocolate with candy colors though.

You could get different textures by flooding out the cross as a background, letting it harden, then applying the design on top for sort of a 3-D effect.
