So my friend's birthday is coming up and I'm making his cake. I decided to do an Italian buttercream because I haven't made it in years and want to do it again. The thing is I have a Bosh Universal Plus mixer and it has the standard plastic bowl. I ordered a stainless steel bowl for the mixer, but it has gotten lost in shipping and I don't know if it will arrive in time now. I tried searching around online, but can't find anything about this and I've never done an Italian buttercream in anything but a stainless steel bowl.

Not sure, but I woul think the syrup will be too hot for the plastic bowl. Just bumping your post so it's not lost in the spam.
