That is still a whole lot cheaper than my 32 ounce bottle of Neilsen-Massey that cost $130.00 something, plus shipping.
Yes Sandra Nielsen-Massey is brand of choice, and it ain’t cheap. And my vanilla is really dark and very rich. I have more bean pods to make more, but no vodka. And the line ups at the liquor store have been RIDICULOUS!!! I don’t need any type of liquor that bad to wait in a huge lineup!!! It can wait!!!
How weird! Our liquor stores are wide open.........oh, I forgot, I live in the sticks, lol!
Not my neighbors, lol! They depend upon me for their baked goods.
Since I'm probably the less sociable person on Earth, I barely know the name of one of my neighbor.... And I've been living here for 9 years now! I guess it would have been a little awkward to knock at one of their door to ask for a tablespoon of vanilla. Shame on me, I plead guilty!
When we moved here, we didn't know anyone in the community. We decided to have a party and invited everyone in the whole neighborhood. We live in the country, so it was only about 30 or 40 people, can't remember. Every single person came and we all got to know each other. It was wonderful and we have many friends from that day, 14 years ago. We are very close friends with our nearest neighbors. Also, Andy knew if I used her oven, she would get fresh baked bread, lol!
Yes! In six months, you have have fab vanilla!
Laetia I just cut my vanilla bean pods in half and dropped them right into the liquor bottle. Tightened the lid, and put into my fruit cellar. That’s was it. If using another jar/bottle, just a wash in hot soapy water and hot water rinse is sufficient. As you said, beans are going into alcohol.
