Using Sheriff Lemon Pie Powder Instead Of Instant Jell-O?

I guess the title says it all. I want to bake a lemon wasc cake. I usualy use a box of instant lemon jell-o pudding and the zest and juice from a lemon. I only have a box of sheriff lemon pie filling powder on hand (wich is suppose to be cook with egg yolks and water). Anybody knows if the powder can be use "as is" in my cake batter?

I've never heard of that kind of pie filling, but being a powder, I would not have hesitated to try it. Glad it turned out well! Good to know.
