I mainly use for my cakes homemade marshmallow fondant, I was wondering if I can use liquid metallic color or this will be a total failure? I always use gel paste colors and I know it not right to use many liquids since it changed the consistency.

Thank you very much for all your answers

Personally, I would use it to airbrush or paint on the fondant after it's on the cake, not mixed in with the fondant.

Totally agree with inthekitchen2 on this.  When using metallics, even dusts, it does not work to mix it with the fondant or gum paste.  The shine does not come through.  Much better to apply to the surface using an airbrush or dry brushing.  If you do not have an airbrush or metallic powders, Wilton makes a spray gold which is complete edible and works well.
