I have never used the actual Sugar Structure Kit, but I have made structured cakes using an internal armature made of the same type pieces which I purchased from the hardware store. Even building the structure yourself, from scratch, is very expensive so if the commercial structure is exactly what you need, it will probably be no more costly than buying the individual components and doing it yourself.
