I have a cake recipe that calls for a buttermilk glaze (made on the stove). It does not say whether or not the cake needs to be refrigerated because of the glaze. It's heated on stove just to boiling, but not cooked for a specific length of time.

How do we know when icing recipes with buttermilk can sit on the counter or be refrigerated?

it depends on what else is in there — and how much — but I am intrigued —sounds like a cool recipe!

also — just start a whole new post to respond since you are new

there is some kind of new member delay on being able to "reply" to posts so please start a new thread to continue any discussion -- at some point all of a sudden you will be enabled to "reply" but not for a while -- maybe like 30 days — I think it might have to do with time and activity levels -- please respond in a new thread if you need/want to —

best to you
