Hello everyone, what are some of your techniques that you use to cover a 12in round cake and find it? I'm trying to find the easiest way to get it done without the fondant cracking and tearing.

I would probably cover it in two parts.  Top then sides.  I would also probably flip the cake over once you have the top covered so that way you aren't having to trim the excess from the nicely covered top of the cake but rather the bottom of the cake that you won't see once you flip it back over.

This is a pretty thorough tutorial that explains it...https://sweetnessandbite.com/how-to-wrap-a-cake-with-fondant/

And not only would this be a bit easier then having to work with a very large rolled out piece of fondant, you would be assured to have nice crisp edges to your cake.
