I have a rush order due tomorrow...I don’t usually make ice cream cakes, but I’m assuming it’s okay to make fondant unicorn ears and eyelashes for it? Or does it react like it does to cream cheese frosting?

HELP ME  again, please Caked Crusaders!!

interesting -- I din know it reacted with cc icing -- what is the reaction --

I know it's going to sweat so  if anything goes into the side  I would make the items on sticks to insert into the cake --

are the lashes black? that might leak a bit -- idk

Sometimes it dissolves it a bit...I always back my fondant with white chocolate if I’m attaching to CC frosting. One more reason to use your balsamic one!!

Good idea...I should make lighter colored lashes. Should I do buttercream or does it have to be a whipped cream frosting?

lighter colored is a great idea -- you can do regular buttercream no problem

Thanks, K8....I’m trying to use stuff I already have for my other cakes due this weekend - I mean, who orders a cake 20 hours in advance???! I usually wouldn’t do it but it’s for a lady in the neighborhood :).

If you can get your hands on candy melts or candy bark (like the melting coating for strawberries at the grocery store), you can whip up a fast batch of modeling chocolate to use for the ears, horn and eyelashes.  It only takes like five minutes to make it.

I have no idea why I didn’t think of that. Thank you, Sandra! I’m going to do that next time.

My first thought for everything (almost) is modeling chocolate.  Love the stuff.
