I’m a semi-retired Baker/decorator. Things change fast in the decorator world! I’ve been seeing lots of flowers painted on bc cakes. They look beautiful and I’m confident in my ability to do it, but what I’m wondering, if I paint beautiful flowers on a middle tier of a 3-tier wedding cake, when I take it to the venue and it sits outside and comes closer to room temperature, do I have to worry about the painting running down the cake as the cake starts to sweat??? Would love some help from anyone that’s got any knowledge in this department! ♥️ TIA!
I meant yes I would worry -- I have air brushed on smbc but I can't remember painting on it -- there's no reason why you can't -- it doesn't crust you know so it's more technical to paint on it -- then when you say the cakes is "outside" or "room temp" do you mean outside outside? or outside of the fridge -- what will the weather be like there when the cake will be served?
bottom line -- you gotta test this -- with your paint on your smbc in your weather -- even if it's for another season -- you need to test this -- try Italian bc too -- it gets a tad bit of a slight crust on it -- might be easier -- smbc probably will need to go in & out the fridge or if you could sit inside a walk-in somewhere -- that would be perfect --
I don’t know a lot about the venue, but it’s a small venue that’s going to be packed. It’s air conditioned. By outside, I meant outside the fridge. I’ve never had a cake not sweat no matter what the weather was. I live in the Midwest and it’ll be fall weather.
