Hi everyone!

My name is Leslie and am pretty new to baking! Someone requested that I make a money cake that looks like this:

https://pin.it/zqf3od2ohjgqkh

The request says to make a chocolate cake with chocolate filing and a caramel glaze on the outside. I would have to put fondant on top of the glaze.  Can I put fondant on top of a caramel glaze? Any recipe suggestions? I am a little worried the fondant will slide off of the cake!  Any alternatives?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I would be inclined to advise the client that a caramel glaze would not work for this cake design.

Yeah a glaze is not going to work.

You could always drizzle the glaze on top of the filling before adding another layer of cake.  This way you still get the flavor of the caramel and still be able to make the cake that you pictured.  Or instead of chocolate filling you could do a caramel flavored buttercream.  But I would think of different options to present to the client since their request is just not going to work for the cake that they want.
