Has anyone used beer in simple syrup, instead of hard liquor? I have a beer chocolate cake recipe I would like to try this with, but wanted to see if anyone has done it before. Thank you!

no I haven't but I have tried a guinness cake and I din like it -- but if it's mixed with sugar as in a simple syrup splash -- that could be pretty cool -- I don't really drink but I love liquor in simple syrup for baking -- and people usually go nuts for that kind of cake --
