Thank you to all that replied to my question about what to do to prevent the cake from sticking to the pan. I baked the cakes today and used parchment paper on the bottom and they came out easily after running a knife around the edge. I appreciate all your replies.

yay! the batter climbs a bit better up the sides too w/o any oil/grease on there — you’re welcome — best to you
