Hi there, I am having hard time to mix JMU (university) purple color. I have Wilton Violet and Royal blue on hand, and practiced on some leftover icing, but I cannot achieve the right shade. Do you think I need to buy a different color (which one?). I am nervous because I need to color fondant as well. Which colors do you think I should use? Here is the link for JMU web, the dark purple is I need. Thank you so much for your advice.

it was easier to mix color when there weren’t so many choices — there may be that exact shade out there in some brand or other — with that said — take a little of your sample icing that is not the right shade and try adding some black ICING — some blacks will work some go greenish — if it seems to be moving in the right direction, y’know add more purple, blue, a little red, black — see what you can come up with — but sure looks like it needs a lot of color and the black should take it down deeper — then wait 24 hours & see what yah got —

also that color will likely stain mouths/teeth a little at the event — airbrush might be an option — but just a random thought for you
