Hi all. Haven't been here for a while. Need some help.

If a cake is baked with a dairy product, does it need refrigeration?  Something like sour cream?  Same for frosting...If milk or Cool Whip or Fluff...refrigeration?

Having a small debate with my wife as to what can/should be refrigerated and what can be left out at room temp.

Thanks.

if it is is baked in the batter — no

if it is part of the filling — maybe, maybe not — too many variables there to say definitively  — if you make icing with milk no fridge — if a cool whip mousse yes fridge — marshmallow fluff no fridge —

cream cheese icing Fridge Yes
