This might be a weird question and there might not even be an answer but I'm going to throw it out there. Is there any use, other than cake or cup cakes, for cake batter? I needed 5 1/2 cups of batter today so I made 2 mixes which made 8 cups. Any ideas what to do with the leftover 2 1/2 cups? Chances are I will just make a few cup cakes to give to the kids but thought I would see if there might be something else. Any suggestions of something someone has wanted to try but just hasn't? I can experiment and post my results. See, weird question. icon_lol.gif

well if you do cakes for others, its not silly to bake cupcakes or small cakes, to give as samples or a small cake for when somebody wants one of those last minuts cakes. I find using the extra batter, to make something like Wilton small stand up bear or a small star is great, then you don't have to mix up a batch of cake mix if you need something like that to top a much larger cake, that is required in a different flavour. You can also freeze to make cake balls. I realise none of these ideas are new!, but having something ready made like a teddy is great, buecause I don't find them that easy to make, so if its a disaster in the baking process, no matter it wasn't needed for anyone.

That's not a weird question! but the only thing i could think of since i'm new with cake making is you could try making cake balls out of the left over batter *shrugs*. hope that helps!

I already made a million icon_eek.gif cake balls out of the cake scraps. icon_lol.gif
