I want to send my nieces and nephew a St Patrick’s Day goody bag. I was thinking about making Rice Krispie treats in the shape of shamrocks and covering them in green candy melts.  I know that Rice Krispie treats get hard after a day or two.  Would the candy melts keep them fresh?  And do candy melts taste good enough that the kids will like them?

Yup- candy melts will help keep rkt moist for a couple more days. As for the taste... many adults think it’s too sweet in large quantities, but I’ve never met a kid that doesn’t like them  :). If possible, I try for a thin coat of melts as opposed to a thick one. Good luck!

Yes and yes.  With the RKT's sealed, they will remain fresh for several days.  Personally, I like Candy Melts.  They taste a lot like white chocolate.  I guess I am just an old kid, lol.
