I just recently opened an Etsy shop where I sell fondant cake toppers. So I came here with my questions because google and the Etsy aren’t very helpful right now.

Here is my issue:

A few days ago I sold 2 minions cake toppers which are priced at $15 each. So the buyer paid a total of $45.59 fo the whole order.

•Two minions topper ($15 each)=$30

•Shipping cost ($15.59)

•$45.59 total

Why after a $45.59 transaction I’m only left with $9.50 as profit? I’ve attached 2 pictures for reference.

To those who sell on Etsy, can you please give me some light on why this is happening? What Am I doing wrong. Should I offer free shipping and increse my prices?

Thank you for reading my post I’ll read your comments

I do not know but in the friendliest way possible I would like to caution you about selling copyrighted things -- it can come back and bite you hard -- no offense but you might want to rethink your merchandise --

best to you

I have to agree with K8memphis. I bought a "Frozen" cake topper on Etsy for my granddaughter's cake a few years ago when I couldn't find one locally. Everyone loved it and wanted to order one just like it. The seller is no longer in business. I found her email and contacted her. She said she received a "warning" about selling a copyrighted image without licensing rights.
