Ive been asked to make a cake similar to this with the mask made of fondant and elevated like this one. And ideas/suggestions on how to use the dowel for support. The mak is hollow, so not sure how top anchor it to the mask. And suggestions are appreciated

Looks like they just used a kabob skewer to anchor the mask. Just glue the skewer to the back of the mask with sugar glue or water. Make sure it bonds firmly with the back of the mask. The mask will become much lighter as it dries, so it should hold it perfectly. You can paint the skewer with black gel color and it will blend in fine. Good luck!
