Norma20,
If you want to know how I did my tiffany cake in my photos, please pm me and I will attemp to explain. It was my first one but I did some research and came up with a pretty easy way to get that look. Good luck!
Norma,
They are not a difficult cake to make, I've made a couple of them and they are always a hit.
I think the most important thing is to get the colour right. I use teal green and capri blue, and just add the colour a little at a time until I get the right hue, remember, that the colour will deepen, so make it a little lighter than what you'd like it to be.
The next thing is to make sure the cake is nice and square so your edges will look neat, then I usually cover the sides with two strips, the edges get covered by the "ribbon" later and then cover the top by rolling out a piece of fondant a little larger than the top of the cake. I place this on top of the cake, place a piece of baking paper on top, then a cake board, and flip the whole thing over, so the cake is resting on it's top. I then measure about an inch from the sides and cut the fondant, also removing an inch square from each corner, and then I dampen the edges before flipping the cake back over, the lid sides will fall into place, but you will need to smooth them a little and then pinch the edges together gently.
I have made a tutorial on bows, but you'd need to look it up on my yahoo group, because I don't know how to upload it to Cake Central.
