My first time with a really big cake. 14x3”. I think there was just too much batter to cook and that’s why it is sunken. Anyone have any ideas if this is what happened and how to fix it? What Happened?!What Happened?!

that could do it -- you're only sposed to fill 3" pans half full -- 2" pans can be filled more than half way -- go figure right?

but oh that looks So Good -- I want to come over and eat it with you! marble cake yes?

You can also put a flower pin in the center to help cook the inside. But yes, looks like too much batter in the pan.

what I do is bake at 350 till the outside ring is done -- then I keep turning the oven down till it finishes baking and I use a foil tent over the top too at the end of the bake when I start turning down the temp --

I have had good luck using heating cores, the kind that looks like flower nails.  For a 14" round, I would use about five cores.

-K8memphis, I really like the way you bake large pans.  I will definitely give that a try because I do have trouble with the centers sinking slightly.

CowgirlJac, that doesn't looks too bad at all.  You should be able to trip it easy enough.
