Has anyone had success with freezing a decorated cake that has gel filling? I am referring to the strawberry kind in the tube you purchase from a cake decorating store. (I don’t know the brand.)

I will be frosting it with buttercream and fondant over.  I’ve had a great success with freezing fondant cakes with BC filling , but I’ve never done it with the gel filling.

I was hoping someone else would be able to answer your question.  I have never frozen  the gel filling, never actually  used it, but if I needed to freeze a cake, I would not hesitate to do so.

should be fine -- but squeeze out a blob -- freeze it and thaw it and see how it does -- you'll feel more confident
