the boards under the cakes you use have to be inflexible -- the boxes not so much -- prop open the lid and cover the opening securely with plastic wrap -- tape it down -- for tier cakes I use corrugated cardboard boxes you can get from the storage places or from places that rent moving vehicles -- trucks you rent when you move I mean --
you can cut a slit in the east and west side of the open box and the lid will fit down into those slits -- so it won't slide down -- but I tape that too
