I want to display an edible photo (it is of a building) on a cake where the tin is 30cm wide x 42 cm long x 4cm high. The cake would be standing on its long side. How do I keep it upright without a collapse? I am prepared to make extra cakes if required to give it stability. Maybe I need to cut the cakes into lengths to stabilise it.

Thankyou and will post an image when (if) a success.

The only way I know to stablize a cake like this is to use dowels which go all the way from the top of the cake and into the cake board.  Use a cake board which is at least 1" thick so your sharpened dowels will penetrate all the way to the table underneath and have plenty of support.
