Hi, I was wondering  anyone could help me. I want to make a cake where the fondant is glossy, like leather. Is there a way to do this without using alcohol?

Thanks

Aish

You can go over your cake with a light layer of shortening, corn syrup or piping gel to make it shine or you can  steam the cake after it’s finished.  There is also an edible lacquer that you can buy but I’ve never used that before.

Edible laquer-exactly. It stays shiny.
