Hello there! I made this profile just to ask a question about a zombie smash cake im doing for my daughters first birthday on Halloween:

So I saw this photo on a Halloween decoration page and thought, “wow that looks like Red Velvet Cake and would be so different from the typical ‘baby-zombie-eating-a-brain-cake’ thing!”
my question is what do you suggest I could mix the cake in to achieve this? Most cakes I see are being coated with raspberry jam over the fondant to make the fake blood, do you think mixing it in would suffice without making it turn to runny slop? I’m not trying to make the cake a perfect shape. I plan on crumbling the cake and just need recommendations on what i should mix in to achieve this consistency or one close to!
