Best Option For Cake Separator With Fresh Flowers

I have to make a 5 tiers wedding cake with separators to add fresh flowers between tiers
What is the better option?
The plates and pillars like the wilton one? Or use Styrofoam separator~

I like to use foam separators for this type cake, but I've always used gum paste flowers, so they had strong wire stems. Styrofoam might be too hard to easily accommodate read flower stems. Perhaps, florist oasis, the softer green foam would work better.
