I´m trying to make a naked cake with Dulce De Leche dripping from the top. I am not sure how to achieve this, though, since the DDL is thick. I tried microwaving a bit, and although it did become almost liquid, it started boiling right away and then it almost as quickly became its normal consistency.
Any tips or advice as to what can I do? I don´t want to use caramel, I want the DDL flavor. And I want it to drip like ganache or candy melts, for the looks.

Thanks for any advice!

You might try mixing it with candy melts, just to help keep it in a liquid state for a longer period of time.

I believe you could add a tablespoon or two of cream/milk (more if necessary) to the dulce de leche, microwave to warm it up and incorporate the cream.  This should help thin it enough to give you the drip consistency you want.  You could always try a small portion of the dulce de leche to see if this process gives you the consistency you are looking before messing with the entire batch.
