I'm planning on adding a homemade strawberry glaze in between my cake layers which will also have chocolate buttercream frosting. I know that you need to create a dam in order to prevent leakage, but does it matter whether we need to first add the buttercream, then the glaze, followed by the cake layer, or first the glaze, then the frosting and the cake?

thanks!!!

I do strawberry fillings a lot and I have better luck with putting down the whipped cream or buttercream first, then the filling.  This way, it sogs up vs sogging down. ie, the filling will bleed into the top cake layer vs the bottom ones and it cuts better that way.
