I have problems when making cupcakes. My liners like to "crinkle" when I fill them with the cake batter. It's like the liner is to big for the pan and they deform when adding the batter. I have tried storing them every which way so they keep their shape but to no avail. I am using standard size liners with a standard size pan. Any ideas?

I'm not much help. I have had it happen a few times, and I simply just try to be gentle with them when separating them from each other.

I found some Decony liners on Amazon and they don't stick together as much. Since switching to them, I've not had any issues with crinkling. They also fit beautifully in my pan.

Baker' Secret Essentials 1114366.  The cup width at the top is 2.91", which is slightly larger than other cupcake tins.  I have gone store to store with a measuring tape, and I have never found one with an opening that size.  They are all smaller.   I never have problems with my cupcake papers crinkling.
