Hi there this might sound amature but can I use fondant as a slice of cheese and use a creme brûlée torch to make it look “melted” I seen a video on YouTube but the lady used modeling chocolate instead and it came out great!

maybe -- it will scorch easier though -- if you gently heat it a bit and then manipulate it -- i'd start with a slightly smaller piece than you need in the finished product -- i use a warming drawer to help dry my fondant pieces -- and if i pick them up while still warm -- they melt -- so indirect heat will work much better with fondant i believe -- you could microwave it too -- for a few seconds and see how it does -- but be prepared because it will stretch out fast when you pick it up -- and the microwave does not usually heat it uniformly -- heats in spots --

150 degrees is safe -- or maybe you want to go a touch higher so it does melt -- there's that idea too

some people use food dehydrators as well
