Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get this color in buttercream? I have warned the cake recipient that I likely can't get that color but they have asked me to try. I'm about to lose my mind!

Are you using powdered colours? It's easier to get a decent colour with those. I sometimes use a little cocoa powder to get a good red - not too much though or you'll end up with terracotta!

Or if they want the slight lustre look you could paint with something like this?

I agree with Rosemary7391.  You might want to add a little orange, and then use dark pink or magenta luster dust as your final step to bring out the pink highlights.

I would call this a reddish orange.  Start with a nice orange color, whether it is gel or dusts, and add to your buttercream until you have a good, rich color.  Start adding small amounts of red and blending well, repeat as necessary, until you reach the desired color.  It may not be the exact shade as the color shown, but it will give you a great approximation.
