I am looking for a great Mouse Cake recipe for both Chocolate Mouse Cake and Green Tea Mouse Cake. If you have a favorite and would be willing to share I certainly would appreciate it. I have to bake four cakes tomorrow and don't have a recommendation/favorite to choose from.

Also, please let me know how you decorate the tops of these cakes too.

Thank you sooooo much! icon_smile.gif

Of course, it's late and I just didn't do a spell check - it's mousse cake that I am looking for!

Thanks for noticing. icon_redface.gif

Chocolate Mousse Cake

3 packages (3 ounces each) of ladyfingers (I have only found them at Schnucks)
1 cup sugar ½ cup whipping cream ¼ cup butter
2 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 teaspoon vanilla
2 Tablespoons hazelnut liqueur (optional)
2 cups whipping cream (1 pint), whipped

Split ladyfingers. Line bottom and sides of a 9 inch spring form pan with ladyfingers, placing close together. There can be small gaps.

Cook sugar, ½ cup cream and butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring often, for 5-7 minutes until sugar dissolves. Add chocolate, vanilla and liqueur (if desired), stirring until chocolate melts. Cool. This mixture should be the consistency of thick hot fudge sauce. If it thickens too much when it cools add milk to thin.

Whip whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Fold whipped cream into chocolate mixture. Pour 1/3 mixture into pan, top with half the remaining ladyfingers. Repeat layers, ending with chocolate mixture. Chill at least 4 hours. (Freeze up to one month. Thaw in refrigerator 8 hours) Remove sides of pan.

Thank you for the Chocolate Mousse Cake recipe, however I was thinking about actually baking the cake portion of the whole thing. I'd make the ladyfinger recipe for me and my family but not for sale. Thanks again.

Anyone else?
