Hey so i'm trying to find some really good affordable die in Canada because ordering americolor is pretty expensive to ship here. So ive seen people using Mccalls dye but i haven't seen any reviews on it or anyone raving about it. Have any of you guys tried it does it give nice bright colors with NO taste like wilton or is it on americolor level. Give me the dets plzzzzzzzzz
Well obviously Ti-Ti-246 You are Canadian, cause no one else would know who McCalls were. Ok, I’ve used McCalls food colours and extracts/flavourings. Both good. Unfortunately, when I shop at McCalls warehouse they never seem to have either of these items in stock. I never order online because I’m only about 35-40 minutes away by car, depending on traffic, from the warehouse. I do treat myself and buy McCalls brand EasyIce white chocolate fondant. Very good taste wise, and very reasonably priced. I get the 10 kg bucket. I buy the Wilton food colour gels from Bulk Barn. Always in stock, and inexpensive at $2.50 each. And I also have Americolour which I purchase online at vanillafoodcompany.ca. Here is the kit I ordered. $30.95 + tax, and $7 flat shipping. I got this kit 2 years ago, and I’m still using. Because they are concentrated, you use very little.

I also order all my flavourings and extracts from the vanilla food company. They definitely have the best prices, and flavourings you just can’t find anywhere else unless online in the USA. Much cheaper than Bulk Barn or Michael’s.
Hope this helps.
I am glad you replied, June, because my only comment was, never heard of it (lol). I would add that I use Wilton gel colors and Americacolor and I'v never noticed either changing the taste of my cakes, fondant, frostings or probably gum paste, but I never eat gum paste.
