They don't have to look exactly like this just wondering how to get (and keep!) the basic shape. I'm thinking some underlying form (maybe copper pipe?) covered with rice crispy treats and then fondant. Any thoughts or ideas/
Yes, an armature wire would work. Not sure I would bother tho with that. I think you could probably form the shape strictly with rct’s alone. You could attach at the bends with either spaghetti or toothpicks and royal icing. Won’t have to be super smooth as horns are rather bumpy. Then cover in modelling chocolate or fondant.
What are rct's? I have a feeling it will be really obvious when you reply but I have no idea.
Make sure you curl them the right way. Those look like they are curling inward where a Dall's sheep would go outward. Also, I would do the entire thing in modeling chocolate with a copper pipe center.
Wait - Rams, Dall Sheep - why does everything always get so complicated. What's a Dall Sheep? I guess I need to do some research! Anyway, it's a mascot so I'll just do whatever the mascot looks like.
Well Cake-Girl1968 unless your client is being very specific, I know if you presented this cake, with these horns, I would be satisfied. My only advice is Ram’s horns are not just dark brown. There a mixture of brown/black/grey. I was googling rams horns, and this popped up. Another way to make them.out of foam. Interesting.
