Hello!  I am new to baking bigger cakes...usually I just bake cakes for my family, but I've been asked to bake two two-tiered cakes for my friend's kids' birthdays.

I baked the layers yesterday and wrapped them twice in the Glad Press n Seal wrap, and then once with foil when they were at room temp.  Today, the cakes were frozen, but just for good measure, I decided to wrap them once more with foil.  I just noticed that the outer layer of foil now has ice crystals forming on it.  Is the cake still good?  Should I remove the second layer of foil, or just leave it?

Thanks for the help!

Yep, they are fine! Totally normal for frozen goods.

All is well!  There is nothing wrong and you did wrap them properly.

You could save yourself the materials and only wrap them twice. lol. I wrap mine once immediately after they have come out of the oven and have been leveled. Then once that wrapped layer has come to room temp I wrap once more with Saran Wrap. Once both layers of Saran Wrap are on my cake layers I place them in the freezer. Granted mine do not stay in the freezer longer than a week. 2 weeks at the very most.
